Kernel upgrade woes on ubuntu

I did the latest kernel upgrade.  I always just assume the updates will work.

Today, my printers dissappeared and I could not add new ones, and my VMPlayer would not work.

I had to restart with the previous version of the kernel (.22 instead of .23) and everything is back to normal.
